Admissions
Every child can learn
The Linder Academy is well suited to students with learning disabilities and students that are gifted or twice exceptional. If your child is struggling and/or not achieving their full potential in a traditional school, it’s most likely he/she needs evidence-based intervention and an alternative method.
Here at The Linder Academy, we prioritize reading, writing and math programs that are multi-sensory and known to work even on kids who struggle with dyslexia, ADHD and high functioning autism. We have small class sizes, early education, and developmental specialists in nearly every classroom… plus, social skills training for all kids, not just those with a diagnosis.
Typically developing students thrive at Linder and often outpace their public school peers. This is because the curriculums that work best on kids with learning differences also work best on neuro-typical kids. It’s also because we don’t have scheduled progression timelines. Your child will progress at whatever speed they’re comfortable in. If this means they can complete two grades of math in a single grade, then that’s what’s possible with your student. Progression timelines follow the child, not the class.
Rolling Admissions.
We offer rolling admissions for students who align well with our core mission and services. If the school and parents both agree that The Linder Academy is a place where your child can excel, an application can be submitted at any time with admission decisions made (typically) within 14 business days.
Admission process:
-
Use the "Request Information" links on the site or email us at info@thelinderacademy.com.
-
If your child has already been found to be a special learner or gifted/twice exceptional and you have neuro-psych testing, 504/IEP records, or other relevant records, please send that to us so we can discuss it together.
-
Once you've requested more information and sent us your testing, you will have a Zoom meeting with the Head of School or Head of Admissions to discuss if the program is a potential fit for your child.
-
If we think it’s a good idea, we’ll pair you up with an existing Linder family to discuss your unique needs and whether or not we’re a good fit for your child. This opportunity will allow you to ask questions you might want answered by a fellow parent who is not employed by the school.
-
If you think that Linder might be a good fit for your family, you can pay a $250 application fee here and submit application paperwork. All of your neuropsych testing and educational testing will be due at this time if it wasn't sent previously.
-
Enrollment decisions are typically made within 14 business days of application. If accepted, you'll pay a $1,500 deposit to secure your seat.
-
Once enrolled, please read our handbook and sign an agreement to attend. Your tuition balance can be paid in full, in 2 equal payments, or monthly.

“When my son wasn’t making progress in public school, I needed another plan. I looked into all the special schools in this area but none of them seemed like the right fit and ALL expressed a deep concern about how far behind he was. Then, I found Linder and they weren’t at all worried about that. They basically retaught him first grade in fourth grade and now they’re on to second in just three short months. I wasn’t prepared for how much confidence he’d gain by being in mixed-age classes that are actually on his level and not three grades above what he’s currently capable of. I see such a big difference at home — he’s happy and now I’m happy. I can’t say enough good things. It’s the best thing we could have done.”

“Moving to Linder has been a game changer for my son and our family. His comfort level there is amazing (the small class sizes are a big part of that) and his academic progress is soaring. We’re incredibly excited to continue our adventure there another year.”

“Our daughter is impacted by her diagnoses of autism, ADHD and dyslexia. She is wired differently than her neurotypical peers and has struggled academically and socially, but blossoms when she receives appropriate supports. We were drawn to the Linder Academy because of the intentional way they build literacy into the curriculum and for their inclusive school community. Linder's multi-sensory approach and consistent access to the Orton-Gillingham learning method are helping her tackle what once seemed like impossible academic goals. She loves coming to school everyday because she feels understood, makes friends, and is celebrated for her unique gifts. She is becoming confident in her abilities as a student. It's exactly what she needs and we're staying for another year.”

“I struggled so much in public school with my older daughter, I just couldn’t imagine starting again with my younger. Almost on a whim, I put her at Linder and crossed my fingers. It’s been transformational. She’s happy, confident, and has found joy in learning again. I’m so grateful.”

“Covid brought so much insight into what’s important to our family. It was heartbreaking to watch the public schools close and the teachers scramble to educate our kids. Eventually, my wife quit her job and stayed home to homeschool our son. But she couldn’t do that forever so we went looking for other solutions. We read about Linder and their unique approach to academics on their website. We researched their model. And we met with the Head of School. It was a great fit all around. My son has made great friends and we’re enrolling him for a second year. We couldn’t be happier.”
