Linder Academy Summer Camp 2025
Orton - Gillingham & Mathematics
Each morning, our summer camp program begins with Orton-Gillingham multi-modal literacy and writing instruction, as literacy is the backbone of education.
All teachers are trained in Orton-Gillingham, the current reading and writing curriculum with the best results in national studies. Our staff are put through the entire comprehensive OG training. This means that they teach with structured literacy and multi-modally - the most valid instructional method backed by science.
Students will also have a designated math block each day of camp. Teachers will focus on the development of true mathematical reasoning and math fact fluency, using a variety of teaching strategies.
Problem Based Learning
We have long understood that learning must be linked to known concepts and applied to be mastered. Linder utilizes problem-based learning so that we can dive deep into a single concept and bring all academic subjects to its investigation. In this way, we do not isolate the academic skills, but rather show how they work together to investigate, understand, and communicate about the world.
Students will participate in Problem-Based Learning every day of camp. Sample projects include designing and building a sturdy bridge, developing a sales pitch for a new product, or creating a survival kit and shelter that withstands the elements.
Recreation & Fun
We aren’t just about “academics.” Students will have plenty of recreation time, including arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play each day. Activities will have kids working together, trying new things, and enjoying the simple moments of summer like tag, laughter and popsicles with friends.
Students will have access to the Linder Academy playground, kitchen, library, and student lounge. Windmill Park is a short walk, allowing for even more fun! And don’t forget water-play, a definite camper favorite!
