Middle School

Building independence and confidence for grades 7-8

Middle School at Linder is designed for students ready to grow beyond the limits of a traditional classroom. With a blend of rigorous academics, project-based learning, and personalized support, we empower students to think independently, pursue their interests, and build the life skills they’ll need for high school—and beyond.

Academics with purpose

Middle schoolers dive deep into core subjects—math, science, reading, writing, and history—while applying their knowledge in meaningful ways. Interdisciplinary, project-based units challenge students to connect ideas across subjects and think critically about real-world problems.

Whether designing a sustainable city in science or debating historical events through a modern lens, students actively engage with content, developing both academic mastery and a love for learning.

Executive functioning & study skills

Organization and time management don’t come naturally to every student—so we teach them directly. Students receive weekly executive functioning instruction focused on planning, prioritizing, and managing tasks.

Teacher-supported study halls give students structured time to complete assignments with guidance, while personalized strategies help them build independence, reduce stress, and prepare for the demands of high school.

Leadership development

Leadership isn’t just encouraged at Linder—it’s built into the middle school experience. Students actively take on roles that stretch their confidence and capabilities, from leading group projects to mentoring younger peers.

Opportunities include student-led conferences, peer tutoring, and leadership electives. These help students grow skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. They also contribute to school-wide initiatives and community service projects designed to instill what it means to lead with purpose.

Linder’s leadership program empowers students to lead with purpose, empathy, and confidence—equipping them with the mindset and skills to make a meaningful impact in any setting.

Enrichment opportunities

From national academic competitions to special-topic workshops, students in middle school expand their learning through meaningful experiences that build curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection to the world around them.

Whether prepping for a STEM challenge, launching a service project, or exploring electives like cooking or public speaking, students dive into experiences that spark curiosity and build real-world skills.
